Your Privacy

At Proper Pilates we respect your wishes for privacy. In choosing to join our studio you understand and acknowledge that discussions between yourself and your teacher may be privy to others in the studio at the time. It is your responsibility to inform us directly if you wish certain matters to remain private. Proper Pilates agrees not to use your image for publication without your prior approval. Any personal information you supply to us will not be forwarded onto any third parties without prior approval from yourself.

Culture at Proper Pilates

At Proper Pilates we firmly believe in building and maintaining a strong culture that is supportive, fun to be around, and respectful. We want to share in laughs and smiles, and help each and every client along the journey of progress. We believe in seeing the funny side in our flaws as well as the opportunities they provide us, so that we gain back power and control of our body, spirit and life. We want you to be OK with taking time, making mistakes, and with things sometimes being hard and uncomfortable. This is what change entails. Remember that good practice and health requires commitment and consistency- not talent and flair- so with patience, some sweat, and dedication we can all succeed in positive change.

Memberships

Memberships allow us to offer different options at lower prices in exchange for an auto-billing commitment, meaning all parties benefit, the studio is sustainable, and clients develop a consistent practice that brings about results. Below are policies relating to our Memberships.

Penalties for Late Cancellations of your Booked Sessions

  • Membership holders are subject to our 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your appointment within this period the full credit is forfeit

Suspensions

  • All memberships can be suspended as needed, so you won’t get billed for when you are away from the studio

  • You are able to use suspensions during your initial 12 week commitment period, it will just defer the billing schedule

  • All suspensions are made in week-long blocks, not days

  • To suspend a Membership you must communicate directly with the studio via email, at least 2 business days prior to the suspension start date. We require this to ensure that we have all details in writing.

    • Examples of reasons for suspension include:

      • going on holiday

      • sick leave/time off

      • too busy to get into the studio

  • Most importantly, if you do not give us adequate notice for a suspension and you are debited a payment over that period the studio is not liable to refund you, or roll the credit onward. It is your absolute responsibility to let us know at least 2 business days prior to a billing date in order for us to suspend the payment being debited

Membership Cancellations

  • Upon signing up you are committed to payment of 12 weeks, even if you decide to cancel your membership. The studio retains the right to debit you for the remainder of your membership should you cancel within this period, which we will do, in fairness, over the remainder of the billing dates you contracted to

  • If you cancel a membership and rejoin later, you will incur the same 12 week start up commitment

  • There is no fee for cancellation of a membership after the initial 12 week commitment

  • To cancel a membership you must email us directly at info@properpilates.com.au with your request, which must be received at least 2 business days prior to your next payment

    • Failure to do so means we will cancel your membership from the following payment

Changing between Memberships

  • You can scale up/down Membership categories, without penalty, just let us know you’d like to shift at least 2 business days prior to your next payment

Payment

  • Upon signing up our scheduling system will require a valid credit card to be stored for payments to be deducted ongoing, however:

    • You can contact us in studio or over the phone to setup a direct debit arrangement instead, which will deduct payments from your nominated account

    • You can make cash, direct debit, or credit card payments in advance of your billing dates should you choose, either through our online store or in person at the studio

  • If a payment defaults due to an issue with your card or debit account on file, you will be liable for payment of default charges as well as the payment debt, so please:

    • be sure to update your card/account details before billing dates

    • ensure you have adequate funds on your card/in your account

Online Training

  • To ensure you don’t waste time setting up for your lesson, PP recommends downloading the necessary software and trialing the link prior to your appointment time

  • Make sure you position your camera to cover a side or angular view of whatever apparatus you’re working on. This gives us the best view of your practice

  • Ensure you don’t have too much background noise, as well as test your microphone and camera prior to your scheduled appointment

  • Make sure you’ve contacted us before the session if you need us to email you a copy of the program you train with at the studio

  • Join our Open Studio online even if you don’t have any apparatus- you can perform your Mat exercises anywhere so long as you have some padding available under your back. A towel on your hotel room floor is absolutely sufficient!

  • If you’re heading away speak with us at the studio about first borrowing some pieces of small apparatus that you can take with you such as Magic circles, bands and toe-correctors

  • To calculate time differences when you’re booking appointments from another time zone, see this website for assistance

In the event of Internet outages:

  • If your internet drops out during a Private Lesson the studio is not liable to offer you a refund or make up appointment

  • If our internet drops out during a lesson for under 30 mins we’ll provide you with a complimentary half hour Private appointment credit

  • If the drop out lasts for over 30 mins we’ll provide you with a complimentary 55 min Private appointment credit

  • Online Private Lessons and Open Studio bookings are governed by our strict 24 hour cancellation policy

  • Cancellation of bookings must be made online through our booking system

  • You are responsible for ensuring that you do not miss sessions mistakenly by not accounting for time differences when taking the lesson in another time zone. Our Cancellation policy applies in these circumstances

Enrollments

  • Credits for events you may have enrolled for are non-refundable, but can be exchanged for other Proper Pilates services or future events
